Greg Abbott Texas Attorney General P.O. Box 12548 Austin, TX 78711-2548 greg.abbott@oag.state.tx.us Dear Mr. Abbott: People say that the ultimate test of a legal system is the quality of its protection for the disadvantaged and the delivery of justice to all. On all counts, the convictions of Alberto Sifuentes and Jesus Ramirez for a 1996 convenience store murder here in Littlefield fails miserably. These two hardworking members of our community have been serving life sentences since their defense teams allowed juries to convict them of a crime they could not have committed. Even members of the local district attorney’s office have now admitted that their star eyewitness could not have been at the store that night at the time of the murder. Video security footage – hidden and ignored during the trials of these two men -- has proven that. A hearing here Aug. 1 will give your office a chance to make things right. Order your assistants to admit that the convictions of Alberto and Jesus should never have taken place. Let them have a new trial. Prove to our people that our American justice system passes the ultimate test of truth and fairness for all. Signature Name Address
