LITTLEFIELD--New evidence could clear two men convicted of murdering a woman.

Alberto Sifuentes and Jesus Ramirez were convicted and sentenced to life for the 1996 murder of Evangelina Cruz.

But DNA evidence never linked the men to the crime.

Cruz, a mother of four was shot nine times while working at the Jolly Roger convenience store in Littlefield.

Sergeant Greg Parrott, who helped prosecute the men nine years ago, is confident Ramirez is guilty.

Ramirez, in a prison interview, says he`s innocent.

The new evidence will be presented during a hearing on August 2. A Dallas law firm is working pro-bono to try and free the men.
